Event alert! FutureEd: rights-centered education
In the FutureEd project, we believe that empowering learners to shape a sustainable future starts with ensuring they understand their fundamental rights, practice active participation, and navigate the digital world responsibly. That's why we are thrilled to announce a major milestone for our Erasmus+ project, FutureEd, and invite you to an online event hosted as part of the global Learning Planet Festival!
Join us on January 22nd as we share the progress we’ve made in co-creating a new vision for rights-centered education across Europe.
Event spotlight: FutureEd co-creating rights-centered education for a sustainable future
The transition to a sustainable world requires a profound change in how we learn, teach, and interact. The FutureEd project directly tackles this challenge by helping schools and learning communities build environments that are fundamentally rights-centered.
During this FutureEd session at the Learning Planet Festival, we will showcase how FutureEd is supporting educators in three key areas:
- Fundamental Rights: Empowering learners to understand and practice the values that uphold human dignity.
- Democratic Educational Practices: Strengthening student voice, participation, and shared decision-making within learning communities.
- Digital Rights: Equipping learners to confidently and responsibly navigate the complex challenges and opportunities of digital spaces.
This is more than a presentation, it is an opportunity to connect with the work, explore the resources we are co-creating with diverse actors in education, and hear directly from participants who are already implementing rights-centered practices on the ground.
Who should attend?
If you are an educator, a school leader, a learner, a policymaker, or simply someone who is curious about how to integrate inclusive values and participation into everyday education, this event is for you.
Come discover how you or your organization can benefit from and connect with the open resources and innovative methodology developed by the FutureEd project partners, including CollectiveUP.

Why FutureEd is a game-changer
The success of FutureEd lies in its collective intelligence approach: we are co-creating resources —guides, case studies, and practical tools— hand-in-hand with teachers, students, and rights advocates. This ensures the materials are relevant, impactful, and ready for real-world use.
The core impact areas are designed to strengthen our collective intelligence and future democracy:
- Digital Rights Literacy: Equipping students with the knowledge to navigate online spaces ethically, safely, and responsibly. This means understanding data privacy, consent, and media literacy as fundamental rights.
- Empowering the Youth Voice: Promoting participatory governance models and inclusive dialogue to amplify student voices. When children actively participate in shaping their school environment, they become effective democratic actors for life.
- Integrating EU Values: Embedding core European values like dignity, inclusion, and equity directly into the curriculum, transforming passive learning into active civic engagement.
FutureEd is building a cross-border network of “Rights-Centric Schools”, creating systemic change that will have a ripple effect long after the project officially concludes.
