DNA
DNA (name of the project: From Imagination to Action: Design, Narratives & Art as Change Drivers) is an EIT Culture & Creativity Strategic Topic Group focused on the relationship between the New European Bauhaus and Design. It explores how design, art, craft, technology, new forms of creativity and innovative narratives can bridge the gap between imagination and real-world change. Through research, mapping, interdisciplinary co-creation and future projection, DNA develops and tests methodologies that can generate new societal value propositions and contribute to sustainable, inclusive and meaningful territorial transformation.
Funding type: EIT Culture & Creativity KAVA-supported project.
Grant number: Project KAVA Code: 062600038
Project impact
DNA aims to strengthen the role of design and the cultural and creative sectors as drivers of societal, territorial and economic transformation. Its intended contribution spans civic participation, territorial cohesion and cultural and ecological transitions, while providing creative organisations and SMEs with methodologies and practices that can be tested, replicated and scaled. The project will also generate evidence, policy recommendations and strategic pathways that can inform European agendas, future experimentation and investment in design and creative ecosystems.
Objectives
- Explore how narrative-driven design and artistic practices can generate new societal value propositions and support systemic transformation.
- Research and map successful and unsuccessful approaches across different spatial contexts.
- Develop interdisciplinary co-creation methodologies combining design, arts, technology and NEB values.
- Develop KPIs, practical toolkits and strategic pathways for future experimentation and replication. Explore how collective, environmental and artificial intelligence can contribute to new forms of creativity and innovation.
